Riga Zoological garden country branch “Cīruļi” was established in 1993.

As there is more space in the country side visitors can view the animals in environment that is maximally close to their natural inhabitance.

On the territory of 137 ha there are 38 species of wild animals and 12 species of domestic animals.

There is also such rare predator as wolverine - a pair of these animals was brought from Rotterdam zoo.

There are blue cows, wild pigs and badger and a whole colony of guinea pigs.

Very often there are newly born in the family of deers which confirms that Riga Zoological garden branch “Cīruļi” is a good home for its inhabitants. Wolfs, bobcats and other animals that do not breed well in captivity bring offsprings.

Welcome to the second largest zoological garden with a wide variety of animals!
