A unique private owned zoological garden “Mini Zoo” is located near Riga in the peasant farm “Dobuli”.

Country yard that several years ago was bought by Riga’s inhabitants Agita and Varis in order to have a place for relaxation together with their daughters, has now become one of the most popular and largest country-side zoological gardens in Latvia.

A ministries of Social and Integration Affairs and Children and Family Affairs of Latia have conducted a survey in year 2009 and “Dobuli” according to this survey received a title of “The most family friendly recreation place in Zemgale”

The history of the zoological garden “Mini Zoo” started with ordinary chickens, now there are around 20 breeds of chicken.

The collection of birds includes different breeds of pheasants, peacocks, turkeys, gooses, pigeons, quails. More than 30 breeds in total, many of those can be seen only here on the territory of Latvia.

There are also horses, pigs, goats and other domestic animals, as well as polecat, raccoons, a family of skunks, different gnawers and other animals.
