The museum is dedicated to the mysterious personality of Karl Friedrich Hieronymus, Freiherr von Münchhausen - a german baron that married near Dunteshof where he also spent a small part of his adventurous life (6 years).

The first floor of the Munchhausen museum is dedicated to heroic deeds and adventures of the Baron, but on the second floor there is an exhibition of vax figures. Here everyone can take a picture with some famous people of the past or modern times.

Additionally to viewing exposition in the Munchhausen museum it is also possible to rent places for picnics, walk along the Europe’s longest apsen tree pathway that is 5,3 km long and is reaches even the coast of the Baltic sea. Children can visit the largest wooden amusement ship in Latvia that is 30 m long and 4,5 m wide wooded construction with different swings, bridges and slides.
